GLOBAL – Motorola Mobility revealed two new additions to the DROID family, DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX, as well as updates regarding the Defy Mini XT320, the XT615, and the Verizon Wireless Droid 4 .
The DROID RAZR allows access to webs and thousands of applications from Android Market, and features a 16GB on-board memory. It will soon hit stores and available in classic Black, pristine White and Purple color for a price of 199.99
The DROID RAZR MAXX has all features of DROID RAZR together with comfortable use for multitasking. The device allows 21 hours of talk time. It is loaded with a 32GB memory and is very thin, at just 8.99mm. A price of $299.99 is quoted for it.
Both the phones operate on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, however, they can be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Two DROID XYBOARD tablets are to join the family. Both are powered by dual-core 1.2 GHz and come with Verizon Wireless 4G network. They are available in two sizes 8.2 inch and 10.1 inch and can also be upgraded to Android 4.0.
Motorola Mobility and Verizon Wireless also introduced new DROID 4, equipped with a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and operates on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread which can be upgraded to 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The phone is half an inch slim with a 4inch qHD scratch and scrape resistant display and packs a five-row QWERTY keyboard and edge-lit keys. The phone is said to be business-friendly using Smart-Actions application to automate everyday tasks and keeps data secured. It features software tools which ease access to music, videos, pictures and multi-window web application. The device is loaded with 8MP camera and is able to record 1080p HD video.
The phone comes with a 4G LTE network which delivers fast broadband speed. The phone also allows Wi-Fi connection. It has a 16 GB on-board memory with a microSD slot for expandable memory up to 32 GB.
The DROID 4 will be available in Verizon Wireless communications stores in few weeks.
In China, Motorola Mobility launched a dust-proof, water-resistant and scratch-resistant smartphone, the Motorola DEFY MINI XT320.
The phone has a 3.2 inch crystal-clear touchscreen display appropriate for email, texting and web browsing. The phone features MotoSwitch through which it is able to learn your social life and usage of applications and keeps them in front. The device is loaded with a 3MP rear camera and a front-facing VGA camera for chatting. It allows Wi-Fi connectivity.
The Motorola DEFY MINI XT320 is available from authorized Motorola resellers across China.
In Hong Kong Motorola Mobility disclosed the smartphone Motorola XT615, powered by Android Gingerbread 2.3, packing a 800Mhz processor.
The Motorola XT615 is a very slim phone with 4 inch edge-to-edge screen. The phone is equipped with 8MP camera with LED flash and a front-facing camera for video-chat. This device is able to learn your social life and application uses through MotoSwitch user interface and makes them conveniently accessible for you.
It also allows connectivity through 3.5mm audio jack, USB 2.0 and Wi-Fi. It has a memory slot for Micro SD expandable up to 32GB. The device runs on a 1390mAH battery which gives 300mins of talk time and 110hours of standby time.
The Motorola XT615 will soon be at hand for a recommended retail price of HK$2,698.
