Samsung i9100 Galaxy S II review hands-onBELLEVUE, USA – Samsung confirmed that the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II is running on a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcommm processor, instead of Samsung’s own 1.2GHz dual-core Exynos CPU.

At a recent event held in New York where Samsung showed-off the three Galaxy S II variants, attendees were curious about the processor the T-Mobile’s Galaxy S II was housing, and after much pestering by a fan, the handset’s support team finally tweeted and confirmed the processor detail.

The tweet read:

@MedeirosMusic The Samsung #GalaxyS2 comes with a 1.5 dual core Qualcomm APQ8060 processor. ^Scot

The Galaxy S II on the AT&T and Sprint network runs on the original Samsung Exynos processor and is more snappier and responsive to the functions of the handset. The main difference between the processors is the clock speed, while the Exynos clocked in at 1.2GHz, the Qualcomm processor clocks-in at 1.5Ghz.

The most important reason being sighted for T-Mobile to choose the Qualcomm processor for the Galaxy S II would be the soon-to-be-launched T-Mobile’s modem working on the Qualcomm architecture boasting of down-link speeds high as 42Mbps, this keeping in mind T-Mobile has really made the right decision.
