Symbian Belle Coming in February, Nokia Remains Top Mobile Vendor

Nokia Symbian Belle software updateHANOI, Vietnam – The release of the new version of Nokia’s smartphone operating system Symbian will be introduced on February 2012. The release will be called Symbian Belle and will replace Symbian Anna in the phones that run that version now.

There are many improvements in Symbian Belle that are impatiently expected by Nokia fans, and some of them include resizable life widgets, three more home screens, improved navigation and status bar appearance, brand new apps pack with integrated NFC support and better multitasking and lock screen info.

Supported devices by Symbian Belle include Nokia C7, C6-01, N8, E7, X7 and E6. This upgrade of Nokia phones, combined with the popularity of the brand are amongst the reason behind the company’s first place in sales of mobile phones and in 2011 with more than 417 million units sold, or market share of 26,9%. Second is again Samsung with 21,1% and third Apple, of whom three smartphones account for 6% of the sales or busting 93 million units.
