Sony Xperia Z3, Z3 Compact Now Official

BERLIN, Germany – Sony has announced its latest flagship, the Xperia Z3, along with its smaller version, Xperia Z3 Compact, that features the same powerful specs like its parent.

The Sony Xperia Z3’s body is made up from aluminum with tampered glass coating to its front and back. The device hosts a 5.2inch full HD TRILUMINOS display having 1920×1080 pixel resolution with 424ppi density. The Xperia Z3 comes with X-Reality and Live Color engines and the company claims it as “world’s brightest display of leading premium smartphones” offering 600nits of brightness powerful.

Under the hood lies a powerful Snapdragon 801 chipset with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM and comes with two internal storage versions of 16GB and 32GB along with microSD cards for provision of expandable memory. Dimensions-wise, the Xperia Z3 measures just 7.3mm of thickness and 152 grams of weight.

The Xperia Z3 has a 20.7MP camera on its back with new Sony Exmor sensor with G Lens technology. The device is IP68 certified making it dust and water-proof. At its front are the powerful S-Force Front Surround Stereo Speakers. The Sony Xperia Z3 runs the latest Android 4.4 KitKat on-board and offers connectivity options like NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and LTE with Cat 4 speeds.

The handset is available in four color tones of White, Black, Copper and Silver Green and is priced somewhere near EUR 569.

The Xperia Z3 Compact is the same powerhouse like the Z3 but comes in smaller size with 4.46 inch display and slightly lower 720p resolution. Dimensions-wise it measures 8.6mm in thickness and weighs just 129 grams. Other features like the chipset and camera of the handset have been kept similar to its parent Xperia Z3. The Xperia Z3 Compact will be available in different color tones of Green, White, Black and Orange.
