SEOUL, South Korea – A just-in-time upgrade has been released by Samsung for its new Galaxy Note 2, just a couple of days after its release, offering a new form of multi-window functionality.
Multi-window is similar to desktop multitasking, which allows the use of two different apps at the same time. Obviously this is made possible by the large screen size of the Note 2, because regular smartphones with small screens won’t be able to reap the full benefits of such multi-window features.
A video depicting this functionality has also been released, while users with unlocked Note 2 devices are already receiving notifications about the new upgrade. It’s believed that the feature will be available for apps from the Play Store as well, although further details are still unavailable.
The multi-window feature was supposed to be present on the Note 2 at release, but it appears that Samsung couldn’t integrate it into the device before it went on sale.
