Samsung’s Technology in New iPad’s A5X Processor

Apple A5X processor SamsungSYDNEY, Australia – After the release of the New iPad, there are many secrets under its hood, that we would like to unveal. One hides behind the technology of the new A5X processor, that the New iPad uses.

In a recent infrared microscope inspection of the new chip of Apple, there were some interesting discoveries. It seems that the A5X CPU is designed and built based on Samsung’s 45nm low power consumption architecture. It is not a surprise, as its predecessor Apple’s A5 chip in the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 also used this technology.

The comparison of both chips – the A5 and the A5X, shows that both are based on dualcore CPUs, but the later has an integrated quad-core GPU in addition, which is needed to control the enormous resolution of the New iPad.

Another specifics in the new A5X configuration is that the 1GB of physical memory is moved to a motherboard location opposite of the processor, while before this the processing unit was stacked below the RAM.
