SAN JOSE, USA – The latest documents that Samsung deposited in the trial over patent rights initiated by Apple in the US include a handful of test designs made by the company in 2006.
Many of those designs are with the well known from the iPhone minimalism-inspired candy bar looks. It is notable, however, that all those designs are dated from 2006, while the first iPhone was initially introduced as late as 2007.
Those documents may become a turning point in the trial against Samsung, in which Apple is claiming that many of the smartphones and tablets produced by the company are copying the original products of Apple. If we add to this, that in 2006 Samsung was also working on user interface designs similar to the one made famous by iOS, we may see that the case of Apple becomes even more difficult to be defend. Only time will tell, however, what part of those documents will be considered by the court for the final decision, but things look brighter for Samsung at the moment.
