RICHARDSON, USA – According to sources and images leaked, two new LTE phones will soon be heading to MetroPCS, the Samsung Forte and the Samsung R910.
Both devices are expected to be Google Android-powered smartphones, one of them with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. These will carry the 4G symbol, and should also be released under other global and US carriers, but with different model names.
The Samsung SCH-R910 was the first handset to make it to the blogosphere, with an image that showed Google Android 2.2 Froyo as its operating system. The source claims that it will support CDMA connectivity, run the TouchWIZ user interface, bring a 5 megapixel camera, microSD memory card support, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, and be powered by a 1GHz Hummingbird processor.
The Samsung Forte isn’t that different in terms of specifications, only that it carries a hardware QWERTY keyboard. The current known components are the same as the R910: a 5 megapixel camera, TouchWIZ user interface, microSD memory card support, and even the 1GHz Hummingbird processor.
There is no information on screen size or price, which are some of the more important details.
