Samsung Outs Bada 2.0 for S8500 Wave, Reports $4bn Profit for Q4

Samsung 2011 Q4 financial earnings reportSEOUL, South KoreaSamsung this week released its 2011 Q4 financial earnings report, started rolling out Bada 2.0 for the Samsung S8500 Wave, and released the Samsung Wave Y S5380 La Fleur in Ukraine.

Bada 2.0 is now finally seeding to Samsung S8500 Wave smartphones. The system has not yet been officially released by Samsung and no dates are announced until now, but it is believed to be out soon.

In related news, the Samsung Wave Y S5380, which also runs on Bada 2.0, is now introduced in a new La Fleur edition, in Ukraine. The device packs a 832MHz processor, with a 3.2 inch HVGA display and a 2MP rear camera. It features Touchiz UI, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, HSDPA, NFC and a 2GB memory card. The phone is available in purple black case with floral pattern for about $165 at Rozetka.

Samsung Wave Y La Fleur Bada Ukraine

Approaching to a more important area, Samsung’s financial statements are out and the company is reported to have made an operating profit of $4.7 billion in Q4 2011, and $14 billion in the 2011 financial year.

Almost half of the profit in Q4 is associated with the sales of mobile phones, while semiconductor business earned $2 billion in the same term. The display panel business earned a total of $7.6 billion in 2011. The company made an aggregate sales of $42 billion in this period.

Samsung expects 2012 to be more prosperous financial year and predicts that mobile phones and display business will grow more.
