Samsung’s new line, entitled BizBee, will cater to businessmen with high-income, and the i780 is the first smartphone of the series. The i780 will run on Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system, unlike its recently-launched counterpart i7110, which runs on Symbian operating system.
The Korean electronics giant states that the BizBee line is for the consumer who is “passionate about business, a heavy mobile phone user and frequent traveler.” Its QWERTY keyboard should assist the i780 achieve its target market and attract heavy users to it.
Besides a 2.55″ touchscreen display, the i780 incorporates HSDPA, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, a 2 megapixel camera, and built-in A-GPS. The smartphone has 256MB ROM, and 128MB of RAM, and possesses a 1480mAh battery which should provide up to 7h of talk time and 400h of stand-by time.
Samsung needs to work hard to catch up to its rivals, namely Nokia with the E71, and BlackBerry with the 9000 Bold, as these are truly attractive phones that can double as business and personal phones.

The Samsung i780 is the first product from the BizBee range to be introduced in Europe, initially in the UK, Nordics, Spain and Netherlands. The Samsung i780 is specially designed with a larger screen to enable document viewing and amending. It runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 and comes with an optical mouse and stylus, as well as full QWERTY keyboard.
