BELLEVUE, USA – Internal company slides belonging to carrier T-Mobile have leaked, with release dates concerning the LG G-Slate tablet, the Samsung Vibrant 4G and the Dell Streak 7.
The network operator doesn’t find itself in a very comfortable marketing situation, since Samsung and itself continuously delayed a much-awaited software update for its Samsung Vibrant flagship device, only to be revealed that the newly-announced Galaxy S 4G was behind the delay. According to rumours, T-Mobile believed that if customers did not get the update, they would opt for getting the handset’s upgrade.
The release dates now available concern three important devices which will partly shape how the network will do during the first half of 2011. The LG G-Slate will be its second tablet, powered by Android 3.0 Honeycomb, but with few specifications confirmed. It is understood to be releasing on the 23rd of March, 2011 with the first 3D camera on a tablet.
The first actual tablet to launch on T-Mobile will be the Dell Streak 7 on the 2nd of February. It is one that does not run on Android 3.0, the optimised version of the operating system for tablets. The price may round the US$299 mark, in order to rival the appropriately-sized Samsung Galaxy Tab from Sprint.
The Samsung Galaxy S 4G, also known as the Vibrant 4G, is mentioned for a release on the 23rd of February, less than a month away.
The only remaining curiosity from T-Mobile is the Sidekick 4G Android smartphone, which continues to be a mystery.
