SUNNYVALE, USA – The Palm Pre device will not be succeeded by any device, but a similar phone will be launched by the company, and be sold by AT&T. The Palm Eos is characterized by its small and thin form, and runs on the webOS software platform.
The Palm Eos, previosly codenamed Castle, features a 2.63″ touchscreen capacitive display – a rather small screen, owing to the small size of the phone, and the fact that there is a full keyboard on the monoblock device.
The phone will also come with 3G, 4GB of internal memory, a 2 megapixel camera with fixed focus, Bluetooth, and A-GPS connectivity.
The Eos is actually rumoured to be the successor to the Centro, which would make it the first webOS-powered Palm Centro.
Release date is expected to be during Fall this year, but pricing is not known.
