SANTA CLARA, USA – The Nvidia Shield Android game console is set to be released at the end of this month.

Nvidia Shield release date

Earlier in May, the console was available for preorder with 25th June as date of shipment. However, the roll out was missed owing to some delays.

Now finally, GameStop mentioned that the Nvidia Shield would be coming yesterday, July 25th, yet an official memo from NVIDIA says that July 31st is the date for shipping to begin officially. Nevertheless, it will only be available in USA, for now.

Additionally, the portable console is now priced at $299, down from $349 originally. Just to remind the readers, for this price, the NVIDIA Shield, powered on Android Jelly Bean, packs a 1.9GHz Tegra 4 quad-core processor with 5-inch 720p display.

For memory, it is loaded with 2GB of RAM, 16GB storage and a microSD slot for expansion. It allows connectivity through dual-band MIMO Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS.
