Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone software updateESPOO, Finland – Handset manufacturer Nokia will be rolling out a number of software updates for its range of smartphones which will include models with Windows Phone 7 and its own Symbian software.

According to Nokia there will be two roll-outs, the first of which: the Windows Phone 7 update for the Lumia 800, which will provide enhancements to Wi-Fi connectivity and the battery performance. It has been confirmed that the update should be staggered over a two week period rather than being rolled out all at once. Users will be able to use either Windows Phone 7 connector if they use a Mac or Zune to upgrade the handset.

For users owning the Nokia 500, Nokia E6, Nokia E7, Nokia N8, Nokia X7, Nokia C6-01 or the C7 the release of the new Symbian Belle software upgrade will be available from the beginning of February rather than next week as was originally expected. Nokia has confirmed that the Belle update will also be pre-installed on all future C6-01, C7 and N8 models.
