Nokia Lumia 900 Review

With the upcoming Windows Phone 8 update and potential rush of handsets from Nokia and other OEMS, the Lumia 900 is in a difficult place. It is a quality piece of hardware, continuing Nokia’s tradition in this department. The compatibility break from Windows Phone 8 is a necessity I guess but how does that affect the Lumia 900. It is in my opinion just about the sum of its parts, but no more. In my family right now are the Galaxy S2 and S3, and the iPhone 4S. How do I begin to recommend this device over any of those three? And truthfully, I can’t. If only for someone looking for something different, the combination of the Lumia 900 and Windows Phone 7.5 does not better either of these devices.

Nokia Lumia 900

The Lumia 900 offers a lovely experience, with a very strong suite of core applications and a third-party selection that is getting better and stronger. The performance of the device is commendable. It offers a fluid experience as expected from a modern high end device. However it is hamstrung somewhat but some omissions and curious implementation of other features.

It makes it a difficult device to recommend, particularly when looking look at the devices it shares the stage with. While the device is capable and offers a decent experience I am entitled to suggest waiting to see what Windows Phone 8 paired with Nokia hardware will bring to the table.
