ESPOO, Finland – The Symbian Belle Refresh has been officially released, and in the coming weeks the update will be available to all Symbian^3 smartphones of Nokia.
The major updates that the Belle Refresh brings include a fully-HTML5-comparative browser and improved Flash playback and support. Other improvements are more clock widgets, a note widget, improvement of the interface of the music player and built-in support for Microsoft Office Mobile App and Nokia Maps Suite 2.0.
The update will be rolled out in phases, starting with the Vanilla versions (basic software variants without any specific operator or country configuration). Country and operator variants will follow within the next weeks, depending on local and operator approvals.
It is notable that hardware that is already more than 2 years old, such as the Nokia N8, still gets full software updates and even some extra apps for imaging.
