Nokia 5730 XpressMusic Unofficially Reviewed

5370-1Russian mobile news website Mobile-Review has published pictures of a double keyboard device which looks very similar to the leaked pictures of the E75. It is a XpressMusic phone and it is called the 5730.

The device has both numeric and full QWERTY slide-out keyboard, which may seem to some people like a waste of space. Some of its features include 140MB built in memory, microSD card slot, 3.2 megapixel camera and 3.5mm headphone jack, as well as a GPS chip for location-based services.

The device has an awkward placement in terms of market, since it has a double keyboard but it is a XpressMusic series phone. This kind of devices usually have dedicated multimedia buttons but aren’t intended for messaging purposes. However, with Nokia Messaging now online, keyboard-enhanced phones seem like the obvious option to buy. The Nokia 5730 XpressMusic will be sold for US$290, and if it were launched earlier, it would be a competitor to LG’s KS360 Chatterbox.

Users now feel the need of being in touch with their friends and family in different ways than sending SMS or calling them, that is why social networks and communities such as MSN, Skype, Google Talk, AIM, and others are becoming evermore popular. Having a QWERTY keyboard will only make things easier for consumers when using these services.
