Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition (4)ESPOO, Finland – The Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition has been launched as the cheapest GPS-enabled mobile phone in the market, at only €110 (US$163).

The handset has an integrated A-GPS receiver and digital compass, and comes preloaded with Nokia Maps. Depending on the region where it retails, the maps for that region should come built-in. Nokia has taken rural areas and small towns in mind, which means that improved maps will be part of this handset.

As this is a dedicated GPS phone, it comes with a car charger, car cradle, and a lifetime navigation licence offering voice guidance and turn-by-turn navigation.

The device features a 2.2″ display, a 2 megapixel camera, microSD memory card support with a 2GB card in the sales package, FM radio, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

A powerful battery is needed for GPS navigation to last. The 2710’s battery is said to allow up to 18 days in standby time, and up to 4.3 hours of talk time.

The release date for the Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition is expected for the second quarter of 2010.
