New Samsung Corby C5530, Shark S5530 to be Announced
GLOBAL – Samsung is to announce two new mobile phones with similar model names, building on the Corby and Shark series, although it is not confirm whether the C5530 or S5530 will belong to either lines.
Having handsets based on successful series should ensure success for these, especially if the design is kept similar, and the features improved.
The Samsung C5530, possibly a future Corby phone, has a 2.8″ touchscreen display, a 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, a 2 megapixel camera, microSD memory card support, and TD-SCDMA connectivity. The images confirm that it will be marketed by China Mobile, and the network support suggests it will be an exclusive to that country.
The Samsung S5530, which could be added to the Shark series, is a slider that features a 3.2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, FM radio, 3G connectivity, and a microSD memory card slot. It does not have a touchscreen, and in comparison to the C5530’s design, this handset feels quite dull. Unlike the previous phone, the S5530 may be launched in Europe as well.
These are rather simple phones that allow Samsung to have a good presence in the lower-end market, vital for any manufacturer’s survival.
