MWC Recap: Samsung Galaxy S III, Google Nexus 7 Win Big
Mobile World Congress, BARCELONA - The Samsung Galaxy S III and the Google Nexus 7 were the big winners at the 18th Annual Global Mobile awards held at the MWC in Barcelona.
Samsung’s flagship smartphone Galaxy S III, which brings intuitive software such as the S Voice personal assistant and Smart Stay eye-tracker, was selected as the best smartphone.

The Google Nexus 7, which was co-developed by the search engine giant and ASUS, came out as winner in the tablet category. The Nexus 7 was among the top selling tablets in 2012 owing to its high-end features (quad-core processor, NFC, 216 ppi resolution for 7-inch screen) despite its budget-pricing of only $199.

The Nokia Asha 305 was awarded as the best entry-level phone.

Facebook, which has started providing free voice calls for US iPhone users, won best mobile app for consumers, while the best mobile app for the enterprise was awarded to notetaking suite Evernote; the best overall mobile app award went to dynamic navigation app Waze.
