New Meego UI user interfaceMobile World Congress, BARCELONA, Spain – Now that MeeGo seems dead for Nokia, the community powering the joint Maemo-Moblin operating system has just showcased the newest user interface of the platform.

A spokesperson for the organisation, which develops the open-source system, took us through the few panels which will form the experience for the user. There’s a friendly layout joining several popular actions which users conduct with their tablets.

“Object-oriented interface” as it is called, changes the way tablets are used, by avoiding the act going to apps, but rather just offering it on the interface itself.

There’s no news whether this will make it to any Nokia device, perhaps a tablet, but the hacker community will surely port it to Maemo 5-based Nokia N900.
