MWC: HTC One X Shown off, Plans of Streaming Music by HTC

HTC One X Peter Chou MWCBARCELONA, Spain – Taiwanese major phone maker HTC has announced its next big flagship smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona – the HTC One X.

The phone is an improved version of the prototypes codenamed HTC Edge and Endeavor. It is packed with quad-core CPU, 4.7-inch, 720p touchscreen and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense 4.0.

HTC is also working on its own streaming music service, which may be available to all its products in the near future. The company acquired a share in Beats Audio, a company started by music gurus Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre, and it is expected that their cooperation will bring quite a powerful music streaming pack for HTC users. This project is part of the strategy for regaining market share from HTC, which saw constant fall in sales last year, due to increased competition both from high-end Samsung products and low-end Chinese vendors of Android smartphones.
