REDMOND, USA – As expected, the Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 Pro would be arriving in markets in January 2013.
It has only been a month and few days when Microsoft released Surface with Windows RT, and now it has announced the release of the more powerful variant.
The Surface with Windows 8 Pro shares the Dark Titanium VaporMg casing, kickstand and dual 2×2 MIMO antennas, and weighs less than 2 pounds. The tablet will include a Surface pen with Palm Block technology, and capability to use a Type or Touch cover. The tablet is also able to run Windows 7 desktop applications.
Coming to specs, the Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 Pro will pack an Intel third-generation Core i5 processor under a 10.6-inch 16:9 ClearType display with 1920 x 1080 (full HD) resolution. The device also features a USB 3.0 port and a Mini-DisplayPort that outputs to up to 2560 x 1440 in resolution.
The Microsoft Surface with Windows 8 Pro will come in two storage variants, a 64GB and a 128GB one. While the former will cost about $899, the latter has been priced $999.
