BlackBerry Playbook tablet hands-onWATERLOO, Canada and REDMOND, USA – Rumors are flying that Blackberry maker RIM and Microsoft are set to announce a new free Blackberry mail hosting service.

RIM makes the business friendly Blackberry line up and is the only OS out right now that does not use ActiveSync technology for Microsoft Outlook based e-mail accounts. The new Blackberry Enterprise Server will be used to help consumers keep there devices synced with their Outlook mail accounts.

This move seemed a bit surprising on Microsoft’s part as they just made a huge investment in Nokia to help their slow starting Windows Mobile OS.

The announcement is expected as soon as today.
