REDMOND, USA – Microsoft is working on a product similar to Google’s Project Glass, as per a patent application published last week.
The project is not as comprehensive as Google’s one, which is a wearable computer, and should be out in few months. In fact, Microsoft’s undertaking is quite simple. The device explained in the patent is dedicated to specific purposes.
The Redmond giant is actually working on augmented reality glasses that could improve the experience of watching live events. The idea is to provide a user with relevant information in text and enhanced sound coverage of events, like a football game or perhaps a concert. According to the filing, this device is not intended to be used around the clock.
However, the patent was filed in May 2011 and it has been long since then, but there are no current updates on what Microsoft has added to the project in between the period.
