Nokia 900 Windows Phone Mango 4G LTEConsumer Electronics Show, LAS VEGAS, USA – Nokia launched its foremost higher end phone for US markets, Nokia Lumia 900, noted as the thinnest Windows Phone to date, is also the first phone to support high-speed 4G LTE data transfers.

Built exclusively for AT&T, it is expected to support faster access to mails, data transfer and download videos. Nokia claims to allow data downloads up to 50mbps on AT&T’s 4G LTE network, although some AT&T users may not agree. Nokia continues to make polycarbonate unibody design after Nokia N9 and Nokia Lumia 800.

“We exhausted lots of time with the program team to resolve the physics of casing a 33 per cent larger display along with a larger battery and intricate antenna architecture without missing on the product requirements of the US market,” said Jamie Langford, who guides the industrial design team functioning on Symbian and Windows Phones.

The Nokia 900 comes with a 4.3 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 480×800 pixels. It is integrated with USB, Wi-Fi, DLNA and Bluetooth facilities for better wireless data transfer. It is powered by Windows Phone Mango+LTE release 2 operating system with a memory of 512MB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The Nokia Lumia 900 can also accumulate Skydrive cloud storage.

An eight megapixel camera powered by Carl-Zeiss lens and dual LED flash has been integrated with a f2.2/28mm aperture for better low-light shots. A front facing camera of 1 megapixel for video calls is also present.

With the Android smartphone market soaring in the third and fourth quarter of 2011, a lot can be expected from the smartphone market with Nokia and Microsoft’s flagship Lumia 900 possibly bringing back the Windows back in foray against the Android market.
