CUPERTINO, USA – Last Wednesday Apple officially unveiled the iPhone 5, the newest, thinnest and lightest member of the series, with iOS6.
The iPhone 5 has a 7.6mm anodized aluminum body, is 20-percent lighter than iPhone 4S, and is elegantly-designed with diamond cut chamfered edges and glass inlays. The 4″ Retina display offers better viewing, while its taller design allows the handset to be used easily with one hand. Featuring a powerful Apple-designed A6 chip, the iPhone 5 runs on iOS6, what Apple considers the most advanced mobile operating system today.
The handset includes an 8MP iSight camera, redesigned to be 25-percent smaller than the one in the iPhone 4S, while incorporating a whole lot of new features, such as crystal clear images, 28MP panoramas, and face-detection for up to 10 faces. A beam-forming, directional microphone system offers higher quality sound enhanced by noise cancellation technology.
Advanced wireless standards including DC-HSDPA and LTE used in the iPhone 5 guarantee faster browsing, downloads and streaming. Dual-band 802.11n Wi-Fi support offers wireless transfer speeds up to 150 mbps. iOS6 also comes with over 200 user features including a new Maps app, a new Flyover view and turn-by-turn navigation. The new Passbook app collects all electronic passes in one place, while Siri has also been enhanced with better language support.
