LAS VEGAS, USA – A number of phablets, including the Alcatel One Touch idol, One Touch idol ultra, One Touch Scribe HD, Huawei Ascend Mate, Ascend D2 and two other Android handsets by Vizio were seen at the Consumer Electronics Show held earlier this month.
The Alcatel One Touch brand has grown with three new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean devices addition. The One Touch idol ultra is said to be thinnest phone measuring just 6.45mm, and is equipped with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor under a 4.7-inch HD AMOLED screen and with a 8MP HD camera.
The One Touch idol weighs only 110g, has a 4.7-inch IPS display, a dual-core processor and two cameras – 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera.
The One Touch Scribe HD has a large 5-inch HD display along with premium multimedia and graphic capabilities. It is loaded with an MediaTek MT6589 quad-core chipset, 8MP rear camera, 720p front camera, and supports 4G network connectivity.
The Huawei Ascend D2, also running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, has a spec-sheet consisting of a 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 5-inch 1080p display, 2GB RAM, 13MP camera at back, 1.3MP camera at front, 32GB storage and a 3 000 mAh battery.
The Android 4.1-based Huawei Ascend Mate has sizeable 6.1-inch 720p screen protected by Gorilla Glass. It features the same 1.5GHz quad-core processor as the D2, along with 2GB RAM, microSD slot, 8MP 1080p camera, 1.3MP front camera and a 4 050 mAh battery.
Finally, Vizio has introduced two Jelly Bean phablets – a 4.7-inch white matte-finish polycarbonate and a 5-inch model in navy blue. The 5-inch version has a dual-core Qualcomm chip, 32GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and microSD slot while the 4.7-inch version has a dual-core MediaTek processor, 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera, 16GB onboard memory, microSD slot and 1GB RAM.
