Leak: Vertu Constellation F
LONDON, UK – Mobil.cz reports that an upcoming Vertu model will be named Constellation F, with the F meaning fold.
The above means that the Constellation F will be the first clamshell model released by the luxury manufacturer. The design is probably chosen to appeal to the North American market (where clamshell models are traditionally more popular than in most other markets).
Featuring a 2.4″ internal display with HVGA resolution, the phone will also host an external display with 128×160 pixels. Other specs revealed include a 3 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, 8GB of internal storage and GSM/EDGE/HSPA support. No word on Wi-Fi or GPS connectivity yet.
Buyers can choose their cover material from options such as leather, stainless steel and even gold. Jewels are also said to be available as an option.
Vertu is a mobile phone manufacturer in the luxury segment founded in 1998 and with headquarters in the United Kingdom. The brand is fully owned by Nokia, although independent from Nokia in daily operation. To remain exclusive, Vertu models are not sold in regular stores or through sales channels. They are instead only available in especially branded Vertu stores.
The Vertu Constellation F will reportedly be released during Q4 this year. The currently least expensive Constellation model available costs US$5 000, but expected retail price for the Constellation F is US$10 000 or more.
