iPhone 5 Nano-SIM Card Shown, Camera Samples Released

SAN FRANSISCO, USA – The iPhone 5 was officially launched by Apple last week, and details of iOS6 and the nano-SIM-card it’ll use are now public.

Apple released several sample camera shots taken by the iPhone 5. While the camera is 25-percent smaller than the 4S camera, it is still powerful with an 8MP backside-illuminated sensor with a hybrid IR filter. It also features a dynamic low-light mode for up to 2 f-stops greater performance, precision lens alignment, a new image signal processor for spatial noise reduction, and a sapphire crystal lens cover for better safety. Sharpness and natural colors of released images testify the effectiveness of these advanced features.

Unlike many of the latest handsets, the iPhone 5 doesn’t feature NFC. Apple believes that its new Passbook, which can store a range of details from loyalty cards to boarding passes and baseball tickets, is sufficient for meeting the expectations of most customers. The lack of wireless-charging facilities is apparently compensated for by the new lightning connector, displacing the older dock connector.

The iPhone 5 also marks a new era of SIM cards, with its nano-SIM-card slot. The first photo of such a nano-SIM by Vodafone was also released last week. Being 40-percent smaller than micro-SIMs, they save space for designing smaller and more sophisticated handsets.
