NEW YORK, USA – Following the recent news report of a holographic display broadcast by a New York City TV station, it’s now possible to generate a holographic image using any smartphone.
Unlike the clip on the report, that showed a holographic display created from a device which was mistakenly called an iPhone 5, this new technique was invented by a Japanese user with an iPhone 4S. The trick is to get hold of a 3.75-index prism crystal, which can be bought at any science store. Next, the phone has to be placed on cardboard stands, so that the screen is right above the point of the prism. A 3D image will be observed inside the prism when the phone is turned on.
Although many fake online video clips claim to exhibit holographic displays, this simple technique enables anyone to create a real holograph rather than a mere concept or projection.
