iPad RITS traceability system peru sustainable harvest exprimaDAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania – Exprima and Sustainable Harvest, two of the most influential modern companies in agronomical business, recently started a pilot project in Tanzania for implementation of their Relationship Information Tracking System (RITS) suite for coffee plantations from all over the world.

The project saw incredible popularity with a busting 106 trained farmers in month. The reasons behind this popularity hide not only in the useful information and the new options that the tracking system provides. According to Debra Rosenthal, Director of Technology Development for Sustainable Harvest, the good results and the reason of choosing iPad for the project is that its intuitive functionality and modernity makes it both useful for the farmers and interesting for the younger generations, which otherwise would not be so engaged in agriculture.

With similar results in Peru, it is obvious that iPad has found yet another, a bit surprising niche in which its functionality makes it popular and needed tool – the agricultural development of the developing countries.
