SAN FRANCISCO, USA - Apple has announced that they will be holding their annual developers meeting WWDC from 6th June onwards in Moscone Center, San Francisco.
The five day conference revolves around new innovations in their iOS and OSX platforms. Historically Apple has always announced their next generation iPhone during a keynote at the beginning of the developer conference.
Rumors suggest that Apple will not be announcing the iPhone 5 during WWDC this year. Research firm Gartner's Michael Gartenberg reiterates that development is still going strong on the next generation hardware and it would not be wise to hold out for the updated model this summer. Apple is planning to ship its new operating system, Mac OSX Lion, this summer. The operating system is expected to hit Gold Master stage around the same time frame as the developer conference.
More than 100 technical sessions will be presented by Apple engineers on a wide range of technology-specific topics for developing, deploying and integrating the latest iOS and Mac OS technologies; over 1,000 Apple engineers will be providing developers with code-level assistance, insight into optimal development techniques, and guidance on how they can make the most of iOS and Mac OS technologies in their apps; there will be an opportunity to connect with thousands of fellow iPad, iPhone and Mac developers from around the world; and Apple Design Awards will recognize iPad, iPhone and Mac apps that demonstrate technical excellence, innovation and outstanding design.
Customers are still awaiting for a white iPhone 4, a model which should certainly be released before the rumoured iPhone 5.
