CUPERTINO, USA – The upcoming iPhone 6 from Apple is understood to come up with a 10 megapixel camera with an aperture of f/1.8, according to sources from Taiwan’s industrial chain.

Reports from Chinese website IT168 say that Apple will scale up its camera from the current iPhone 5s which has an 8 megapixel camera and a narrower aperture of f/2.2.

According to the news, Apple will introduce a new resin lens filter made by Japanese company JSR filters in the iPhone 6 rather than the hybrid IR filters used currently for iPhone 5S. JSR has a strong foothold in the market of digital video cameras with CMOS image sensors and is famous for its ARTON Resins. According to JSR, these ARTON filters are much thinner and lighter compared to the IR filters and offer a clearer image owing to the resin’s ability to minimize the color shifts of CMOS image sensors.

Analysts from Nomura Securities have predicted the iPhone 6 to come with improvements in video recording with the aid of optical image stabilization. Currently only a higher resolution and better lens rumours hold water.
