Embrace+ Bracelet for Smartphones Launches on Kickstarter
SEATTLE, USA – Crowd-funding platform Kickstarter touts Embrace+, a bracelet that’s able to interface with a smartphone.
Packaged as a “fashion accessory with true functionality”, Embrace+ blinks, vibrates and glows in different colors to notify the iPhone or Android device owner when there’s an incoming call, text message, or social media updates.
Launched by VentureTech and RKB Global, founded by Paul Hornikx and Rudi Beijnen, Embrace+ is available in three designs. To link the accessory to a smartphone, purchasers of Embrace+ need to download the app via Google Play or at the Apple App Store.
Open the app to set notifications for incoming calls, text messages, e-mail, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook posts, phone-out-of-range warning, alarms and timers, low-phone-battery, and calendar alerts.
Each notification can be customized with two colors, number of blinks, speed interval, duration of each blink, and color brightness.
Embrace+ lasts for more than 10 days at an average of 100 notifications per day. The device can be recharged via any USB port. At this moment, it seems unlikely that it will ever reach its funding goal, but there’s almost a month left in its Kickstarter page.
