Dell Venue rootROUND ROCK, USA – Dell announced its Android-based Dell Venue smartphone at the CES last month and the hacker community has already done its part, with the handset now rooted.

The process is extremely simple and just requires one click. The phone has not seen widespread release yet and is available only in India and South Korea as of now. Rooting the phone allows users to gain superuser privileges which will let them install apps to modify system data and customize the phone according to their requirements.

The Dell Venue comes with the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, and it is expected to get an update to Gingerbread soon. Its hardware specifications include a 1GHz processor and a 4″ Wide-VGA screen which is capacitive multi-touch in nature. There is a 5 megapixel camera on the device which lets users capture 720p video on the smartphone.
