Comparison Review: iPhone 5 vs iPhone 4S

GLOBAL – Now that Apple’s iPhone 5 has hit the market, it is time to compare some of its features with those of its predecessor, the iPhone 4S.

The iPhone 5 includes an Apple-designed A6 chip which is more powerful than the dual-core A5 chip of the iPhone 4S. The iSight camera of the iPhone 5 is 25-percent smaller than that in iPhone 4S, yet it offers better performance, such as 28MP panoramas, improved video-stabilization and enhanced video face-detection. Both devices are available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models.

An advanced version of Siri, the famous intelligent assistant introduced with iPhone 4S, is available on iPhone 5. New features include wider language support and easy access to movie listings and sports scores. In contrast to iOS5 in iPhone 4S, iOS6 bundled with iPhone 5 offers a richer collection of features, such as a new Maps app with turn-by-turn navigation, Facebook integration and a new version of Passbook.

The iPhone 4S featured a thin glass and stainless steel design, whereas the iPhone 5 constitutes a 7.6mm anodized-aluminum body with glass inlays and diamond-cut edges. Hence, it is 18-percent thinner than the iPhone 4S. While the iPhone 5 is available in colors white and silver or black and slate, its predecessor was in plain black or white.
