The gorilla in the room is the iPad with a big head start on the market, the contenders have exploited the weaknesses of the iPad, no connectivity or ports, and are trying to capitalize. The iPad is due for an upgrade this spring, possible correcting these shortfalls. In the meantime, if the user needs the large screen and the connectivity, the Xoom could be the right choice, still want something that fits in a pocket, the PlayBook is the answer there.
