BlackBerry Pearl Launches on Rogers in Canada
TORONTO, Canada – The BlackBerry Pearl 9100 3G version with the 20-button SureType keypad launched on the Rogers network this week. We reported on the multiple versions of this device clearing FCC approvals in May, and have been anticipating the launch announcements since then.
The Pearl 9100 has built-in GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G connectivity, the new trackpad, and a 3.2 megapixel camera with video capture. The Pearl 9100 is updated with a sleek design and a new processor and radio chipset. The radio is the quad-band EDGE and tri-band HSPA with Bluetooth. Dedicated external media keys control the multimedia player.
The Rogers version has out-of-the-box Mac computer support, and includes a 2GB microSD card. The device supports up to a 32 GB microSD card.
The Pearl 9100 will support download speeds up to 3.6mbps on the 3G network, as well as BlackBerry Messenger, Windows Live, Yahoo Messenger and Google Talk. It is small and a fully functioning BlackBerry device, suitable for the professional on-the-go and the socially-networked individual.
