Apple Maps Find Maps iPhone App StoreCUPERTINO, USA – With the increasing number of complaints regarding Apple Maps in iOS6, Apple CEO Tim Cook has published a public apology to iPhone 5 users.

Apple says it created Maps from the ground up, to incorporate features such as voice integration, turn-by-turn directions and vector-based maps. Over 100 million iOS devices are said to be using Apple Maps, who searched nearly half a billion locations within a week.

While working on fixing Maps, Apple encourages users to switch to alternatives, such as Bing, Waze, MapQuest, MotionX and Telenav. A new featured link is now available on the iOS App Store, listing 13 paid and free options. Users are also suggested to create icons to Google or Nokia Maps apps on the home screens of their iDevices.

Meanwhile, Google Maps and Earth imagery teams have released new 45-degree imagery for 51 cities, including Winnipeg, Canada and Pisa, Italy. Aerial and satellite images of 17 cities and 112 countries and regions, including Lille, France and Austin, Texas, have also been updated to higher resolutions.
