iPad 4 128GB RetinaCUPERTINO, USA – Apple is aiming to boost its revenue by releasing a 128GB iPad 4, although it may see iPhone sales hurt in Brazil following an unfavorable ruling.

Apple on February 5th started selling 128GB models of its fourth-generation iPad. Priced at US$799 (Wi-Fi only) and US$929 (with 4G LTE), the tablet with the 128GB storage capacity is targeted for consumers and businesses that utilize large amounts of data.

Excluding its added storage, the iPad 4 retains the same features of the variant that was released in November: 2,048 x 1,536 resolution (264 ppi) Retina display measuring 9.7-inch, improved 4G LTE, an A6X chip processor, a Lightning connector, a 720p HD front-facing camera, and a 5MP rear-facing camera.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian Institute of Intellectual Property has ruled that a Brazilian consumer electronics maker owns a trademark for “iphone” because it registered the name in 2000, about seven years before Apple released the original iPhone. The Brazilian device-maker, Gradiente Electronica, launched an “iphone” line of Android phones last December.
