MOUNTAIN VIEW, USA – Google has announced the latest version of its operating system, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
According to the details available, Google Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will include several important improvements over previous versions of the operating system.
Some of those include expandable notifications from apps, files and photos; Android Beam sharing service; bi-directional text support; gesture interaction mode; media codec direct access; Wi-Fi Direct service discoverability and improved network preview; network bandwidth management; and several more improvements of the user experience, such as better HTML 5, Java, image capabilities and audio playback options.
There are also several highlights in the Google Play store that will come with Jelly Bean, such as smart app updates (supports legacy platforms form Android 2.3), app encryption for paid apps (only for Android 4.1 and up) and improved Google Cloud Messaging for Android 2.2 and up.
