Alcatel One Touch Idol Alpha Comes to South Africa

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – The Alcatel OneTouch Idol Alpha has been unveiled and priced in South Africa.

The handset is being currently marketed as “phone as fashion”, it comes with a 3D aluminum and a “bright diamond cut” effect. The top and bottom host translucent panels to flash a light for notifications.

Looking at its specs, the device hosts a 4.7-inch HD IPS display with 1280×720 pixel resolution. It is completely laminated and comes Oleophobic coating. The phone measures 7.5mm in thickness and runs the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. At its back lies a 13.1 MP primary camera with autofocus and a 1.3MP secondary HD camera with digital zoom and LED flash. At its heart lies the company’s own quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The memory options include 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. The battery capacity of the device stands to 2000mAh.

The Alcatel One Touch Idol Alpha is available in SA via MTN and Vodacom with a retail price of R 5,999. It comes in two color options of soft gold and slate.
