Samsung released its Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo smartwatches at the Mobile World Congress, and also announced that it will offer its own Tizen SDK for the same devices.

The doors for the developers who have been waiting to develop apps have now been opened. The applications which will be developed with the Tizen SDK will be made compatible with the Gear 2 and Gear 2 smartwatches only, and not with Android Wear devices.

Both the Gear 2 smartwatches can sync with devices running Android 4.0 and above. The devices have a heart-rate monitor, faster processor than their predecessor, and a dual-core 1GHz chipset.

At the moment, the Korean giant says that it has partnerships with over 100 developers – a few of the apps that can be compatible with the watch include iHeartRadio, Dacadoo, Atooma, Glympse, Feedly, Banjo, EasilyDo, Focus TRAINR, Runtastic, Spritz, CNN, Strava, Sleep Genius, Life 360, iwunta (Buttwear), Vivino, News Republic, eBay, Expedia, Conde Nast, MyMusicCloud, MapMyFitness, and Flick Dat.
