Project Ara (PhoneBloks) Conference Scheduled for Next Month
MOUNTAIN VIEW, USA – The team of the famous Project Ara (based on Phonebloks) is planning a conference for April 15-16, 2014.
Developers will meet online through a live interactive Q&A capability and webstream. However, few participants can attend it in person at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California.
According to official sources, there will be total of three Developer Conferences in 2014. The first conference is scheduled next month on 15-16 April and it will mostly focus on Ara Module Developers’ Kit (MDK). The MDK is an open and free platform with reference implementation and specification which portrays almost everything required to develop an Ara module and is expected to arrive online the same month.
The alpha version of MDK works on a prototype implementation of the on-device Ara through the MIPI UniPro protocol functioning on FPGA and LVDS physical layer. Following this, there will be other version with ASIC implementation with efficient and higher performance by a capacitive M-PHY physical layer.
The Developers’ Conference is a platform wherein developers with interest in this field are encouraged to come at a common point and share the talent within.
