New MeeGo Tablet Also Runs Tizen OS

A new Meego tablet combines with Tizen OS, and was released in Japan as a result of a partnership between Samsung and Intel. This partnership is a way for Samsung to break with Android and to get more control over its software.

First Meego tablet

This operating system had been released before and is current at version 3.0. It can run on the Samsung Galaxy S4 and could even be installed in the upcoming Galaxy S5. The tablet will for run on Tizen 2.1.

Meego-Tizen Tablet price

There is no information regarding the price of this tablet, not even the release date to the market and its dimensions. The screen measures 10.1” with 1920 x 1200 pixels, and the device brings an ARM Cortex-A9 processor providing 1.4 GHz in clockspeed, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, and 32GB of storage, with possibility to expand using a microSD card.

The back camera is only 2 megapixel and the front camera holds 0.3 megapixel in resolution.

Developers can request the development kit from from Systena to start working with the Tizen operating system. This includes development tools, manuals and technical services and consulting from Systema. The tablet will also be included in this package.
