Adhering to FCC’s decision, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said that it would allow its passengers to use electronic devices during the entire flight. However, they will have to operate their devices in airplane mode or disabling the cellular radios.

Earlier, in-flight cellphone use was permitted above 10 000 feet. For the proposal to get in practice, it may takes months ahead once it passes through a Notice of Proposed Rule Making. Some carriers may uplift the ban as they say that their passengers are not in compliance with this news.

Once the rule is out, it will certainly open the doors for people who want to work on their electronics gadgets for long flights.
