Huawei Launches Ascend G6, MediaPad X1 and TalkBand B1
BARCELONA, Spain – Huawei announced its flagship smartphone Huawei Ascend G6, the affordable Huawei MediaPad X1 tablet and the Huawei TalkBand B1 wristband.
The Huawei Ascend G6 has a 4.5-inch IPS display with 960×540 resolution, a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1GB RAM and runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Huawei’s Emotion UI 2.0 on the top.
Its internal storage amounts to 4GB and it offers a microSD slot for expandable storage. In addition, the smartphone hosts an 8 megapixel rear camera with features such as LED flash, BSI sensor, Sony IMX134 sensor and blue glass infrared filter for sharp clear images. Its front-facing camera captures 5 megapixels and has a 88 degree wide-angle and four-plastic-element lens (4P).
The smartphone is just 7.5mm thin and weighs 115 grams. It also has a 3.5mm universal audio jack and a 2000mAh battery. TheHuawei Ascend G6 comes in two variants of 3G and 4G and is available in different colors of blue, black, white, pink and gold. It will go for sale in April 2014 and is priced at 249 Euros.
Along with the Ascend G6, Huawei also unveiled the Huawei MediaPad X1 tablet with LTE support. The device sports a 7-inch IPS display screen, a quad-core 1.6GHz HiSilicon Kirin910 processor with Mali 450 GPU, 2GB RAM, and 16 GB internal storage with microSD card slot.
The handheld works on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with the Emotion 2.0 UI on top. At its back, it sports a 13MP camera with BSI sensor, LED flash and Sony Exmor R and a front-facing 5MP camera with features like voice activated hands-free capture and 10 level auto-facial enhancement.
The Huawei MediaPad X1 is just 7.8mm thin and weighs 239 grams. It has a battery with 5000mAh of capacity to support long hours of operation. It is believed to go on sale this month and is priced at 399 Euros.
Additionally, Huawei ventured into the smart wearable market with its new and innovative Huawei TalkBand B1. The device comes with a display and wireless headset built-in. Huawei calls it a “Talk and Track” companion and sports a 1.4-inch OLED display with a Bluetooth 4.1 earpiece that supports seven hours of talk time. This smartwatch connects with iOS and Android 4.3+ devices, optionally via NFC.
The wearable gadget also works a fitness tracker, giving the user details, such as calories burnt, steps taken and miles covered. It also records sleep duration and sleep quality with nap functions to help users have a better rest.
The Huawei TalkBand B1 is 1.4mm thin, weighs just 26g and has a 90mAh battery which can last 6 days long and can be charged through USB. The smartwatch is expected to hit the markets in Q2 of 2014.
