The press images display green-colored units flying towards the screen and the Nokia X in the traditional green Android mascot color.

The manufacturer is yet to make any official comment on the smartphone’s existence, although sources close to the company told the Wall Street Journal that the device could be announced this week at the Mobile World Congress.

The Nokia X is believed to have a 4-inch WVGA display, 1GHz dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, 1500mAh battery, 4GB expandable storage and a dual-SIM provision. Nokia may keep it trend of releasing this smartphone in different color variants, just like its Lumia series.

The smartphone will support the Nokia Store and other third-party stores, quite similar to what Amazon does with its Kindle Fire.
