Nokia introduces the 6260 Slide

Nokia has released the 6220 Slide after many rumors and spy pictures circulating the web for more than 5 months. It is a S40 series phone with high-end device specifications, such as A-GPS, 5MP Carl Zeiss camera with flash, 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, and Ovi tools which allow the user to share photos and videos easily.

Secondary features include the 360° Navi-key that should enhance the browsing experience through websites and Social Networks. This is the first device running on S40 software platform that has GPS, which means that more people will have access to location-based services in the near-future. This device will begin shipping at the beginning of 2009 for an estimated retail price of EUR 299, before taxes and subsidies.

The most attractive feature of the device is the low price, given the large number of specifications that it presents. This is a smart move by Nokia because they are introducing devices which will become the standard in terms of connectivity and features in the near-future. As a result, it is attractive to the average user, given that not everyone spends more than US$400 on a mobile phone.

Nokia is a Finnish company that focuses on mobility, adding more features with every new device that allow users to stay connected in many different ways. They are releasing high-end phones at lower prices knowing that it could bring computing mobility to more users around the world.
